This policy explains how DND FM (Do Not Disturb FM, also trading as DO NOT DISTURB and DND Apparel) collects, uses and protects your personal information when you visit donotdisturbfm.com, RSVP for an event, buy a ticket or apparel, apply to perform, or contact us. We keep it simple and only collect what we need to run our events and shop.

Who we are

DND FM is a live events and lifestyle brand based in Manchester, United Kingdom, run by its founder, Shaun Cardin (DJ Cardin). For the purposes of UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), we are the controller of the personal information described in this policy.

What we collect and why

RSVPs and waitlists

When you RSVP for a city or join a waitlist (through our Laylo forms on this site), we collect your phone number and/or email address and the city you choose. We use this to text and email you about dates, presale tickets and events in your city. Legal basis: your consent. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to a text or using the unsubscribe link in any email.

Tickets

Tickets are sold through DICE. DICE handles your purchase under its own privacy policy. If you opt in to hear from us when buying a ticket, DICE shares your name and email address with us so we can send you updates about future events and presales. Legal basis: your consent.

Apparel orders and accounts

If you buy from our shop, we collect your name, email, phone number, billing and delivery address and order details to process payment, deliver your order and handle returns. Payments are handled securely by Shopify and its payment partners; we never see or store your full card details. Legal basis: to perform our contract with you, and to meet our legal obligations (for example, keeping sales records).

Drop alerts and mailing list

If you sign up for apparel drop alerts or our mailing list, we use your email address to tell you about new drops, events and offers. Legal basis: your consent.

Artist applications

If you apply to perform, we collect the details you give us, such as your name, contact details, links to your music and socials, and anything else you choose to share, so we can review your application and get in touch. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in finding artists to perform at our shows, and taking steps at your request before any booking.

Enquiries and bookings

If you contact us through a form, email or Instagram, we use your name, contact details and message to reply to you. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in responding to you.

Website usage and cookies

When you browse our site, we and our service providers collect technical information such as your device, browser, IP address and the pages you visit, using cookies and similar technologies. Some cookies are essential for the site and shop to work. Others help us understand how the site is used and measure our advertising. Legal basis: essential cookies are necessary to provide the site; analytics and advertising cookies rely on your consent, which you can give or refuse through our cookie banner (where shown) and your browser settings. Advertising and Meta audiences

We promote our events on Instagram and Facebook. Where you have opted in to marketing from us, we may upload a securely hashed (scrambled) version of your email address or phone number to Meta to show you relevant DND FM adverts, to avoid showing you adverts for things you've already bought, and to find people with similar interests. Meta matches and then deletes the hashed data under its own terms. You can opt out by unsubscribing from our marketing or by emailing us, and you can manage ad preferences in your Meta account settings.

Who we share your information with

We never sell your personal information. We only share it with trusted providers who help us run DND FM, and only as much as they need:

  • Shopify: hosts our website and shop, processes orders, forms and our email and text messages
  • DICE: ticketing
  • Laylo: RSVPs, waitlists and text and email drops
  • Mailchimp: email list management
  • Meta (Facebook and Instagram): advertising, as described above
  • Payment providers working with Shopify: secure payment processing
  • Delivery partners: to deliver apparel orders

Some pages include embedded content from YouTube and Spotify. If you play that content, those services may collect information under their own privacy policies. We may also disclose information where required by law, or to protect our rights, our guests or our events.

International transfers

Some of our providers are based in, or store data in, the United States or other countries outside the UK. Where this happens, we rely on the safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, to make sure your information stays protected.

How long we keep it

  • Marketing, RSVP and waitlist data: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it
  • Order records: six years, as required for UK tax and accounting purposes
  • Artist applications: up to 12 months, unless we work together
  • Enquiries: up to two years after our last contact

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you
  • ask us to correct anything that's wrong
  • ask us to delete your information
  • object to or restrict how we use it, including for direct marketing at any time
  • withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting anything we did before you withdrew it
  • receive a copy of your information in a portable format

To use any of these rights, email info@donotdisturbfm.com. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we will respond within one month.

Keeping your information safe

We use reputable, secure platforms and limit access to your information to those who need it. No online service is completely risk-free, so please avoid sending sensitive information over insecure channels.

Age

Our events and services are intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us their details, contact us and we'll delete them.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.

We may update this policy as our events, tools or the law change. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
